install vmware tools ubuntu
# install open-vmware-tools-desktop for the desktop version, otherwise

sudo apt install open-vm-tools-desktop
# for the server version use
sudo apt install open-vm-toolsinstall vmware tools ubuntu
# install open-vmware-tools-desktop for the desktop version, otherwise

sudo apt install open-vm-toolshow to download vmware in ubuntu
Download vmware from official site for linux
Then cd into the downloads folder by cd Downloads/
Then
$ sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
$ chmod VMware-Workstation-Full-16.1.0-17198959.x86_64.bundle
$ sudo ./VMware-Workstation-Full-16.1.0-17198959.x86_64.bundle
$ sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
$ sudo apt-get install build-essential module-assistant
$ sudo m-a prepare
Then open vmware
Then click on install
Enter your password
It will be installedinstall ubuntu in vmware
