opera gx
I find the user experience to be far better than chrome. The integrated Discord
and music sites have saved my tab management a lot and the customizability is
off the charts.
It doesn't come without loss though. The forced darkmode is... Mediocre. Don't
turn it on for every site, and if the site has its own dark mode, use that. And
I don't find myself using the CPU and ram limiter that much, I use it for
monitoring and that's it.
For gaming its also kinda meh. It'll help you squeeze a couple more frames out,
but if you have this installed framerate shouldn't be a problem.
But since I use Replit.com for most of my coding, there are a few comfort
features I like about it. There's sound efects for typing, tab management, and
all kinds of other stuff. It sounds anoying but it's fine for me. I like it a
lot! The themes are nice, and until the Replit homepage gets fixed to have dark
mode, this fits quite nicely.
How about performance?
This performance is the absolute best I've seen in a browser. Unlike Chrome,
Firefox, and Internet Explorer (that was a dark time), Opera GX doesn't take a
boatload of time to start up! It also loads sites the fastest out of all my
research.
All in all, This is just a well-rounded browser. I wish this would just replace
normal Opera but I can tell that this isn't a the browser for everyone. Bottom
line, it doesn't take a millennium to start and load websites. If that's a
problem for you, this is the browser for you.
Also I pray that Opera doesn't bloat this to negate the biggest upside for me.
